BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards nominee 2017, Amelia Coburn, is busy. From jet-setting around the world as part of her languages degree course – she is returning, briefly, from six months in Paris to play a handful of dates in the UK before heading to Mexico to work – to writing, recording and performing to enraptured audiences across the country at sell out solo gigs, festivals and supporting and performing on stage with legends such as Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.
Her beguiling delivery of unique interpretations of classic Rock, Pop, Indie and New Wave songs (The Specials, Kate Bush, Bowie, The Smiths and more) have won her a reputation that saw her perform at Cambridge Folk Festival, Costa Del Folk (Ibiza), Mark Radcliffe’s stage at Knutsford Music Festival, At the Edge Of The Sea (Curated by Dave Gedge of The Wedding Present) and other prestigious events. Her voice flirts with Jazz, Folk, Musical Theatre and a healthy dose of punkish spit and sawdust and with her increasingly sophisticated original material garnering praise too you really need to catch her in these intimate venues while you can.
with special guest David C Benjamin.
