The KT Bush Band was formed in 1977 by Brian Bath, Vic King, Del Palmer and the then 18 year-old Kate Bush. They made their live debut in April 1977 at the Rose Of Lee in Lewisham. This was the band that started Kate Bush on her career and path to stardom and they played many gigs around London as well as recording with Kate.
Now Brian, on guitar, and Vic, on drums, have reformed the KT Bush band to perform the very best of the Kate Bush catalogue, as well as original music not heard since those early gigs. Recruiting a stunning band, with the highly talented Steve Bevan on bass and superbly skilled Emily Francis on keys, the band are complete with singer Sallie-Anne Hurst taking on the vocal role, and really bringing Kate’s songs to life. Her vocal skills, also honed on the London stage, pay real tribute to the songs.
Brian, Steve and Emily’s backing vocals bring a rich and powerful backdrop to the mix, and this highly accomplished line-up can bring tears to your eyes with emotionally charged ballads, rocking out with the very best of them minutes later.
“They smashed through song after song… in terms of seeing a first class band with a first class singer playing some first class songs, you won’t see anything better”
Let’s make it clear – this is not a tribute band! Brian’s guitar features on many albums and singles, from “Wow”, “Babooshka” and “Never Forever” to lead on “The Wedding List” and solos on “Pull Out The Pin” with Dave Gilmour’s haunting vocals. Brian went on to perform with Kate Bush in TV shows, videos and on the ‘Tour of Life’ live show.
This is a striking homage to one of the most exciting and original talents of the 70’s and 80’s UK music scene, and a complete show, with lighting, effects and costume changes from musicians who were there with Kate at the very beginning – a show delivered with authenticity, power, passion and superb musicianship.
